A marked walking route follows five rapids of the Karjaanjoki river for about four kilometres each way, from the Pyhäjärvi washing place to Pitkälänkoski via the ironworks area. Myllykoski has a free-flowing three-metre waterfall. Most of the route is gravel or asphalt, with about 700 metres of wood-chip path and some climbs and descents.
It suits walkers and experienced mountain bikers but is not wheelchair accessible. Wooden signs mark the way; only part is lit, and there is no winter maintenance. Dogs must stay on a lead. Pitkälänkoski has a fire site, lean-to shelter and toilet, with a second car park about 300 metres away. Food, accommodation and a cinema are along or near the route.
