A gnome character created by Merja Sirviö appears in a mural on the gable wall of the ARS barn. The character also features in children's books by Inkeri Karvonen and a musical tale by Ilkka Kuusisto.
The mural is visible from passing highway 4. Cards, posters and other character merchandise are sold online and at a local café. A separate 3.5-metre sculpture by Kimmo Takarautio stands in front of the municipal building.
