Founded as an amateur drama circle in 1982, the theatre stages family-friendly summer plays at the Sotkanpesä open-air theatre. Indoor winter productions are made with the adult education centre. Groups can commission travelling plays and sketches for events or book packages combining a performance and a meal.
The Sotkanpesä auditorium is fully roofed and has seats with backrests. The site was renovated in 2008–2009 with access for people with reduced mobility. Tickets can be booked online, but payment on site is cash only. The entrance, toilet and parking are wheelchair accessible.
