Founded as a boys' Scout troop in 1937, the group became co-educational after merging with a girls' troop in 1977. Activities cover Cubs aged 7–9, Adventurers aged 10–12, Trackers aged 12–15, Explorers aged 15–17 and Rovers aged 18–22.
Trained young leaders run groups with adult support. New groups usually start in August, and a waiting list is kept. Membership applications use an online form. Adults without previous Scouting experience and parents can also volunteer and receive training.
