This protected house between the old church and Lapinsalmi dates from around the turn of the 20th century. Surveyor Matti Näkki gave it its present form. It later housed surveyor Emerik and Anna, and a dental practice also operated in the building.
Summer exhibitions have been held since 1989. The artists' association leased the whole house in 2005 after residential use ended the previous year. Some rooms were converted into exhibition spaces, while the other end retains its original furnishings. Roof repairs require permission from the Finnish Heritage Agency.
