This medieval stone church is dedicated to the Archangel Michael. Construction began in the 15th century, and in the mid-1800s it was converted into a cross-shaped church. The clock tower was built in 1824, and during the Porkkala lease period of 1944–56 the building served as an officers' club and storage. It was renovated in 1995–97 and seats about 550 people. Its 40 stained-glass windows by Lennart Segerstråle, painted in 1930–31, form four thematic groups, and the 32-stop mechanical organ, built in Denmark in 1958–59, was a gift to the parish.
The church hosts services, concerts and parish activities such as a choir, and a small chapel in the eastern transept is used for devotions. Four hearing-assistance devices and an induction loop are available. The entrance, toilet and car park, with space for about 24 cars, are wheelchair accessible.
