Built on a rocky hill in 1780–1786, this stone church follows a design begun by J. Sytti and completed with input from C. F. Adelcrantz. King Gustav III settled a dispute over its site and building material. Originally a single-nave church with a tower, it was enlarged into a cross-shaped church in 1886 to C. von Heidecken's plans. A major renovation followed in 1936 under K. S. Kallio.
The Evangelical Lutheran parish holds services, morning prayer groups, choir rehearsals, devotions and concerts here. The church opens during events and by arrangement. The entrance, car park and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
