Established in 1979, the pharmacy prepares medicines when a factory-made product is unavailable. Services include machine-packed dose dispensing and medication assessments by a specially trained pharmacist. A public health nurse offers blood pressure, cholesterol, vitamin D and haemoglobin measurements, vaccinations and injections.
Online orders can be collected at the counter or from a locker in Prisma. Blomdahl ear piercing with medical plastic or titanium earrings is offered from age five. The pharmacy also sets up and inspects ships' medicine supplies. Almost half of its 36 staff speak Swedish as their first language, and it trains pharmacy students and professionals. Wheelchair users can access the pharmacy and its parking area.
