The non-profit association boards dogs, cats and other small pets. There are 26 dog units, eight with covered outdoor runs, and 12 cat units, four with fenced outdoor areas. Dogs are walked individually three times daily according to their owners' wishes, and cats are cared for three times a day.
The association provides a round-the-clock stray animal pickup service for Central Ostrobothnia municipalities and helps locate owners through microchip registries. Urgent dog and cat care is provided under a separate agreement. An employment and study support service is also run.
