The private Swedish-language day care centre has 54 places. Its three groups are Nyckelpigorna for ages 1–3 and Rävungarna and Björnungarna for ages 3–5. Run by Barnhemsföreningen i Gamla Karleby r.f., activities follow a Christian worldview. The 1913 building is linked to a children's home founded in 1901; day care began in 1965.
The centre's own kitchen cooks meals from scratch. Päikky is used for attendance, care-time bookings and communication with parents. Applications use the centre's own form, available on site or online. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
