Founded in 1876, the volunteer fire brigade operates under contract with Kymenlaakso Rescue Department. A rescue unit has seven-minute readiness with a leader and three crew members. Alongside the alarm section are a youth section for ages 9–16 and a support section, all meeting weekly. Its first official firefighting agreement was signed in 1977.
The 1889 building can be hired for events, meetings, exhibitions and fairs, including longer-term use. It has a main hall with a stage, gallery, café and kitchen. Dance, yoga and art activities also take place. Membership is open to everyone. Parking is nearby, but the entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
