The association is a member of the Finnish Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities. It serves people who need support with understanding, learning and daily activities, as well as their families. It works to promote human rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, along with inclusion and self-determination, and acts as an advocate for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. It also belongs to the Kymi regional support network and to VYT, the local disability umbrella organisation.
Hobby groups meet at the Jelppi hobby centre. They include a mothers' group, a life skills group, an art group, a digital guidance group and a dance group, and a floorball group is run as well. Participants may bring a personal assistant or support person. Members receive a newsletter, Tukiviesti or Leija, twice a year and can join trips and events at member rates.
