The music institute teaches more than 30 instruments and singing, from early music classes to advanced study. Classical and pop-jazz pathways and a band school open to all students are offered. Students perform in concerts, opera productions and the Kymi Brass event.
The branch is in Kouvola-talo. String, wind and accordion instruments can be rented at the start of studies. Vacant places require no previous skills, with aptitude assessments used if oversubscribed. Basic studies require residence within the institute's service area; the open section accepts others. The entrance and parking area are wheelchair accessible.
