This family day care runs in the childminder's own home and belongs to the Kultapalat network, whose website is shared by childminders across Finland. Groups are small: up to four children per childminder, and each child is cared for by one familiar childminder. Children go outdoors and exercise in nature every day, and home-cooked meals are part of the day. The childminders are trained, with pedagogical competence, and the municipality supervises the care.
A free trial visit to the childminder's home is offered before a placement. A gradual soft start is available, with a parent present during the first days. Applications are made through an online form.
