Erected in 2000, the memorial honours those killed in 1920 while ferrying two Savoia S.9 flying boats from Italy to Finland. Väinö Mikkola's remains were found decades later on Tödi mountain. Carl-Erik Leijer and mechanic Carlo Riva died when the other aircraft broke apart over Zollikon near Zürich.
It belongs to the Utti Air Guild's memorial series. Investigators attributed the disaster to a combination of propeller design faults, poor workmanship and flight stress. The Air Force Day of the Fallen is observed on 7 September. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
