Founded in 1891, the Swedish-language folk high school and adult education institute is run by a joint municipal authority. It offers longer courses in five areas, including languages, crafts and outdoor guiding. Outdoor Academy trains wilderness guides. Open courses serve different ages, alongside short courses, seminars and trips.
The institute participates in national and international development projects and runs activities such as robotics and creative camps. Around 26 dormitory rooms are rented in summer through Booking.com. The entrance and car park are accessible.
