Opened in December 1988, the Atalante library building stands beside the Pajakkakoski rapids. Designed by Nurmela-Raimoranta-Tasa, it takes its name from the riverboat in Jean Vigo's film. Loans include books, films, video games and board games, while the games rooms have a PlayStation 4 and I wall.
Newspapers, a microfilm reader, printing, scanning, meeting rooms and event spaces are available. Finna lets users manage loans and reserve items from other Kainet libraries. A mobile library and home service reach people unable to visit. The premises are substance-free. The entrance, parking and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
