The parish church stands in the town centre. The neoclassical cross-shaped church, designed by Jacob Rijf, was built in 1816, and the bell tower followed in 1862 to drawings by Carl Ludvig Engel. It seats 1,500 listeners. The pipe organ, built in 1999 by Sotkamon Urkurakentajat Oy, has 38 stops in a Nordic romantic style.
On Sundays and holidays the service begins at 10:00, with Holy Communion usually twice a month. In summer the church serves as a roadside church. The parish halls and rooms can be booked for baptisms, confirmations, weddings and meetings. The south entrance is wheelchair accessible, a wheelchair is kept in the north aisle, and there is an induction loop.
