This Savo restaurant serves a varied à la carte menu made from carefully selected ingredients. It was founded in 1989 by brothers Juha and Sami Torvinen, who converted a building from the 1850s into a restaurant in the late 1980s. A stone house added in 1912 served as a home for the visually impaired from 1956.
There are around 155 indoor seats across the restaurant, Kummin baari and an upstairs salon. In the courtyard stand Kummin Aitta, a historic log barn moved there in the early 2000s and used for private events and meetings, and a terrace of about 180 seats with a covered area and occasional live music. Table reservations, gift cards and quote requests go through the website. The toilet is wheelchair accessible, but the car park is not.
