This ice hall is the home arena of the ice hockey club KalPa, which has played here since the 1950s. KalPa was founded in 1945–1946 as Kalevan Pallo after the Sortavala club moved over, and it won silver in the SM-liiga in 1991. The arena holds about 5,300 spectators: 3,628 seated, 1,392 standing and 280 VIP seats.
Wheelchair spaces are on the B-level landing, and a companion enters free. Games use strong sound and light effects and a smoke machine, so ear protection is recommended. Bags, alcohol, glass or plastic bottles, cans, fireworks and weapons are not allowed inside. The paid parking garage has 358 spaces, six electric car charging points and eight disabled spaces nearest to the B entrance.
