Founded by Kari Vatanen in 2010, the software company develops AI-based learning solutions for organisations. CompetenceX turns expert knowledge into structured training for internal use or sale. OnEdu includes task libraries; its development began in 2013 with more than a hundred educational institutions and nearly 2,500 teachers involved.
The approach keeps people in control of content quality, learner guidance and priorities. The company has partners and teams in India and Egypt. Early work also included an online publishing platform, mobile services and interactive applications for EK and the Finnish Road Safety Council.
