Founded in 1909, the institution brings together a folk high school, citizens' institute and summer university. Studies are open regardless of previous education. Activities include courses, a children's and youth art school, the ARK artist residency, Viena symposium and history days.
The campus offers accommodation, meeting and restaurant services. Its main building, completed in 1958, has an assembly hall and textile and woodworking classrooms. The entrance and car park are wheelchair accessible.
