The Kujala family has run this reindeer farm for six generations, since 1860. It stands on the slopes of Nissinvaara above Lake Nissinjärvi, near Rukatunturi fell, and opened its gates to visitors in spring 2017. All programmes are guided: in winter there are reindeer experiences and sledge rides. A herd of about a hundred animals is fed and handled daily. The farm has its own craft workshop, and a reindeer centre opened around the turn of 2023 with a café, shop, reindeer art and crafts and wild food. It has developed responsible and cultural tourism since 2019.
Visits are booked in advance through the website, and the farm shop is open during visits or by arrangement. It sells reindeer meat, skins, antlers and handmade reindeer crafts. Visitors can come by car or bicycle, and an accessible parking area is available.
