The nature photography centre is housed in the Karhuntassu visitor centre near the town centre and presents the life work of Finnish nature photographer Hannu Hautala. The exhibition space covers about 150 square metres, and the rotating Kuukkelisali hall shows works by Finnish and international nature photographers. Digital and traditional photographs and photo presentations are on display.
It suits all ages, especially anyone interested in the local nature and nature photography. There is also a Hannu Hautala literature corner, a rocking chair and a children's play area called Puuhapiilo. Karhuntassu's history pages cover the ice-age past, local industries, wartime evacuation and tourism history. Accessible parking, entrance and toilet are available.
