The private home care and home-help service supports older people at home and in assisted living across Päijät-Häme. Options include companionship, personal assistance, dementia care and support after hospital discharge. Care ranges from a few hours a week to round-the-clock help, including end-of-life care.
Caregivers are interviewed, references and backgrounds checked, and basic and continuing training provided, including memory-disorder care. Regular quality visits are made. Needs are assessed before any decision to start. Services can be purchased privately or with veterans' and informal-care vouchers, and eligible work qualifies for Finland's household tax deduction.
