Started in 2020, the operation collects hair and animal fur and turns it into keratin-based material. The biodegradable composite contains no petrochemical raw materials, repels water and absorbs oil. Landscaping uses include moisture retention and support for plant roots.
Salons and businesses can join the collection scheme and post hair to collection points. Workshop participants make their own product from the material. The project began with Painovoima and LAB University of Applied Sciences.
