The upper secondary school is built on student wellbeing and studies. The name Gaudia comes from Latin and means joy. There are four study lines: general, IB, visual arts and design, and music. The school has an exhibition space, Galleria Riemu, for student exhibitions, and the music line holds a Christmas concert at Sibelius House.
The school holds open house evenings for students and guardians, plus events for multilingual families and for guardians of first-year students. Information sessions help students prepare for the matriculation examination. It is on the Paavola campus, and the car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
