The art museum is named after the painter Eemil Halonen. Its permanent collection exhibition presents the Halonen family of artists: Eemil, Antti, Arttu, Kalle, Pekka and Heikki Halonen. The collection belongs to the Halonen Museum Foundation, and temporary exhibitions are shown alongside the permanent one.
The museum publishes online material, including a learning resource for young people about the artist's life. A conservation project is under way to preserve Eemil Halonen's sculpture collection. Information is available in Finnish and English, and the museum is on Instagram and Facebook. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
