The trotting track was founded in 1949, and according to its website the first trotting races were held in 1973. The track hosts totalisator race days, training trots and other harness racing events. It won the Trotting Track of the Year 2024 award at the Ravigaala, and it is owned by about 450 shareholders, including local horse people and regional and national horse associations.
Restaurant Rakuuna seats 360, and there is also a lobby bar and the Tallikahvio café. The facilities include a 500-seat restaurant grandstand, a private cabinet room, a totalisator hall and outdoor areas. Event days include student races, Christmas party races and concerts. A youth group, Lappeen ravinuoret, is open to young enthusiasts, and volunteers can join the track's work parties. The facilities are wheelchair accessible.
