Built in 2015, the roughly 0.25-hectare wetland park combines stormwater treatment and recreation. Three channels bring runoff from nearby housing into the Pallonlahti wetland. Slower flow, vegetation and evaporation help retain suspended solids and pollutants.
It is one of seven stormwater wetlands built in the Pien-Saimaa catchment in 2011–2016. Funding came from the city and partly the Southeast Finland ELY Centre. The park entrance is wheelchair accessible.
