The premises are owned by Karelia-seura ry, a non-profit association founded in 1960 for people from the South Karelia region, with about 200 members. The association acquired the building in 2022. It was formerly the Nordkalkki guest house, used for events since 1964.
The rooms can be rented for celebrations such as anniversaries, company parties, graduation parties, weddings and christenings. Standard capacity is 30 to 50 people, and up to 120 with room arrangements. Sauna rooms can also be rented, and the house has hosted public presentation events.
