Founded in 1937 and maintained by a support society, this music school is authorised by the Ministry of Education and Culture to provide music education in the region. Teaching covers instruments, music theory, ensembles, choirs and folk music, and there is a music play school for the youngest. Studies are divided into basic studies, advanced studies and a free-form department. The school works with the Seinäjoki City Orchestra.
Instrument lessons are mostly one-to-one, with group teaching for ensemble playing and music basics. Students can register online through the Eepos service. The main teaching takes place in Seinäjoki, with teaching points in Alavus, Vimpeli and Peräseinäjoki. Funding comes mainly from state subsidy, municipal shares and student fees. This location is in the Bio Marilyn building.
