Open to everyone, the wilderness hut stands in the Alajoki field landscape. It originally provided overnight shelter and rest for farmers and cattle herders. The local heritage association restored it in 2013 and maintains it. Inside are a fireplace and firewood, with space to grill sausages over the fire.
A small yard car park is less than 50 metres from the hut. The route is easy, but unsuitable for pushchairs, and the entrance is not wheelchair accessible. Visitors must take all rubbish away. The hut can also be reached in snowy conditions.
