Founded in 1963, the sailing club runs beginner and follow-on courses for ages 7–15, with a maximum of 12 participants. Optimist training groups are divided by age and ability. Young people and adults can also take beginner lessons in Laser and Melges 24 boats.
Registration is through Suomisport and the club's online shop. Courses include instruction, equipment and Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation insurance, but not meals. The clubhouse has a sauna for course participants and a kitchen for heating food. Accessible parking is available.
