Forest management associations are owned by forest owners and work to protect their interests. Services include timber sales, with buyers put to competitive bidding on the owner's behalf, as well as forest management, regeneration, sapling stand care, fertilisation and forest roads. Help is also available with forest taxation, forest plans, forest valuation and succession planning for estates.
Members get member benefits and the digital forest service OmaMetsä. Advice covers environmental support and forest certification, along with management of peatland forests. Local foresters know the regional forests and timber markets.
Have you used the association's services as a forest owner? Share your experience in the comments for other owners.
