PoKo ry is a rural development association and Leader group for Ylä-Pirkanmaa, covering Juupajoki, Ruovesi and Virrat as well as its own home municipality. It provides Leader funding for businesses and associations, advises on preparing projects and encourages cooperation. Businesses can apply for investment, development and start-up grants, or join cooperation projects.
Business support is aimed at start-ups and companies with a turnover or balance sheet of up to 2 million euros or up to 5 person-years of employment. Groups of 3 to 10 companies can apply for cooperation projects. Applications can be submitted continuously, with set application periods. PoKo days are held in municipal halls in Juupajoki and Ruovesi, and young entrepreneurs have the Yritysbuustaamo start-up support programme. The car park is wheelchair accessible.
