This is the only lower secondary school in the municipality, with grades 7 to 9, about 400 pupils and about 60 teachers and other staff. Four special classes and a JOPO class, a flexible-learning programme, offer alternative learning paths. Pupils are supported by a youth worker who is on site almost daily and by student welfare staff, and the student council and peer support activities are part of school life.
Career guidance includes work-life familiarisation periods (TET) and visits to vocational schools and upper secondary schools. Ninth-graders take part in the Taitaja9 skills competition and the Yrityskylä business learning programme, and eighth-graders complete a work-life driving licence course with the 4H youth organisation. The gymnasium, sports hall and multipurpose hall can be booked through the school's hall supervisor. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
