The roughly two-kilometre nature trail follows the Oulujoki river landscape as part of the 100-kilometre Tervareitistö network. Signs along the marked and maintained route explain nature, cultural history and geology. The moderately difficult walk suits hikers of ordinary to fairly good fitness.
There are six rest spots, two maintained campfire sites, a jetty and a fishing jetty; fishing is allowed. Start at Montta campsite or Leppiniemi, with a 0.9-kilometre scenic route and a 1.6-kilometre loop also available. Arrive by car or bus routes 40 and 41. The trail has no winter maintenance.
