The mill museum opened in 1968 after Professor Toivo Pihkanen donated the mill to the local heritage society in 1967. The building was restored to its former appearance, with further restoration in 2001. Its history goes back to the late 19th century. Features include decorative window frames and a water-powered shingle planer.
It is run by the local heritage society founded in 1951. The site is about three kilometres from the village centre towards Uurainen.
