Designed by A. W. Arppe and built in 1817–1822, this Lutheran church seats 600 people. Its bell tower dates from 1883. The building survived the Lapland War; damage was repaired in 1949, and a thorough renovation followed in 2004. Inside are an altarpiece by Anton Lindfors, a painting by Alfred Selim Töyrä in the north transept and Kyösti Jokelainen's pulpit painting of the gate of heaven.
The church hosts services and midsummer religious gatherings. Step-free access, an accessible toilet and parking, and a hearing loop are available. There is also a room for caring for children.
