A circular-economy centre is being developed on an old industrial island in the Nokianvirta river, combining the industrial setting, nature, eco-social wellbeing and sharing-economy services. The area is being built with ecological construction and renewable energy as a model of sustainable development. Planned uses include offices, small industry, hobbies, services, culture and events.
The island has culturally historic buildings from the turn of the 20th century, a former factory village, and a summer theatre operates in this historic setting. The event calendar includes concerts, theatre and dining events, such as a Father's Day lunch with live jazz. Tickets are sold through its online shop. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
