This youth and holiday centre stands on the shore of Lake Pielisjärvi, on a former farm estate about three kilometres from the town centre. It is wholly owned by the city and run as a social enterprise whose profits go to local youth work. Around 70% of its activity is youth services and 30% tourism, and it runs camps, school camps and international youth work.
Accommodation includes hotel rooms, holiday apartments, the Rantatupa hostel and campsite cottages. Restaurant Pielinen serves breakfast and a buffet lunch daily, with dinner for groups by order. The centre hosts parties, meetings, remote work and team days, rents equipment such as padel and cross-country skis, and offers sauna evenings. It is open all year, dogs are welcome, and Wi-Fi and parking are free. The restaurant entrance is wheelchair accessible.
