The main library in Nurmes-talo belongs to the Vaara library network. Quiet work rooms accommodate 1–4 people; a larger multipurpose room has four table groups, a computer, projection screen and electric piano. A work mezzanine beside the reading room has a height-adjustable desk.
Book rooms through the information desk by phone or email. Self-service access outside staffed hours requires a Vaara library agreement. The same card works across the network, and the online library supports searches, reservations and renewals. A PIN for some online services is obtained during staffed hours. Entrance and parking are wheelchair accessible.
