The scout troop belongs to the Finnish Scout Federation. It was founded in 1929 as a boys' troop, with a girls' troop following in 1931, and the two merged into one joint troop in 1979. Its emblem, adopted in 1989, shows a birch-bark basket and seven stars, and its scarf is dark blue with black and yellow stripes. Troop flags from 1958 are still in use.
The troop welcomes young people into scouting, and adults can join as members too. Besides regular group activities, an Independence Day celebration is held every year. The spring and autumn general meetings are open to members over 15.
