This airfield lies about 50 km northeast of Turku and is operated by Turku Aero Club. It has two paved runways (14/32 and 06/24) and is used for gliding, motor-gliding and powered flying, plus hang gliding. Gliding training is the main activity, busiest from April to August, and the field may close in winter because of snow. The club was founded in Turku in the 1930s and has a published history book.
The club building, Juhala, has training rooms, kitchens, washing facilities and accommodation, with a small sauna and swimming pool nearby. There is a camp area, and six club barracks offer accommodation. The field is private land, so camping requires permission. The Okra arena, 1,500 m² and heat-insulated, suits larger events. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
