The hall is the weekly meeting place of a village youth society founded in 1924. The association organises activities such as skiing and skating and looks after the shared swimming beach at Kylänlahti bay on Lake Längelmävesi.
The building can be hired for celebrations throughout the year. In summer, members meet at the beach when weather permits, with beach volleyball available. A skating track is made on the lake in winter when ice conditions allow.
