The first taxi stand opened here in 1953, and Oulaisten Taksipalvelut Oy was registered as a company on 7 January 1994. About 15 taxis run from the stand. Dispatch uses GPS vehicle location, and a shared Pohjanmaa taxi booking number is routed to a dispatch centre in Raahe.
The company is part of the Otaxi brand, which covers northern Ostrobothnia, with yellow-and-white or black cars. Otaxi VIP premium black cars can also be booked for special occasions. Drivers wear a uniform, the service runs 24 hours a day every day of the year, and the company holds a quality certificate awarded on 12 December 2016.
