The Orthodox cathedral holds evening services, vigils, liturgies and Jesus Prayer services. It belongs to the Northern Finland Orthodox Parish and the Orthodox Church of Finland.
Baptisms are arranged with the parish, and godparents must belong to the Orthodox Church. Church weddings require completion of the examination of impediments to marriage.
