This local carers' association was founded on 20 March 2000 and serves the surrounding area. It has about 100 members. The association supports family carers and people who are elderly, disabled or chronically ill. It is a member of the national carers' association Omaishoitajaliitto ry, as well as Paiste ry and Savonlinnan Seudun Kolomonen ry.
Services include advocacy, guidance and advice, peer support and recreational activities. Anyone interested in carers' issues can join, and events and peer groups are open to non-members too. Individuals can join as members, and companies and organisations can take a supporting membership.
