The sorting station is run by Ylä-Savon Jätehuolto Oy and accepts household waste. Pressure-treated and creosote-treated wood is accepted from households free of charge. Metal scrap, glass other than glass packaging, batteries, textiles, electrical appliances and hazardous waste are accepted within quantity limits, as are gas and CO2 cartridges. Medicines, needles and mercury thermometers are not accepted.
Asbestos, tyres, concrete and brick waste, ceramics, sanitary fixtures, gas bottles and mixed waste are not accepted. Each visitor may bring roughly one car trailer load, which must be unloadable by hand. Ylä-Savon Jätehuolto also sells wheeled waste bins and offers bin delivery and a bin service. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
